The Happiness Project

One of my new favorite websites - and perfectly timed for the New Years Resolution season - is The Happiness Project.  I am not ashamed  (or at least only slightly ashamed) to convey that I read about it in O Magazine.  That's right, Oprah's magazine, which features her (sometimes two of her) on every cover.  While I'm not an Oprah show watcher or book club follower, I am a huge fan of the magazine.  It is perhaps the only (or one of the only) magazines aimed at women that has ladies in it of all shapes and sizes and ages, combines fashion info with legit interviews and book reviews, and isn't afraid to mix in some self-improvement/help advice as well as financial tips.  Anyways, so one of my recent O Magazine discoveries is The Happiness Project (yet another website on its way to becoming a book).  The sites proprietor (is that the right title?) undertook a year devoted to learning about happiness - reading self-help books and gathering advice from all corners (uh, basically sounds like my dream job, by the way....maybe she needs a 20-something co-author for the sequel?)  She has collected some of her findings on the site, and I've recently found it a great place for some new ideas or approaches to things.  For instance, today she had an article on dealing with criticism - I am not good at taking criticism and never have been.  So I definitely took the tips to heart.  My only wish?  That she had a different photo of her on the page!  It is the least happy or comfortable looking headshot I've seen in a while!

(ps - The photo attached to the post is unrelated....except for the fact that it made me happy!)
