Love/Hate

For whatever reason, I really LOVE this Max Azria ad of Nastia Liukin!  My love is sort of random, since I usually don't really care about fashion advertising, I don't know anything about Max Azria's designs, and I didn't watch Liukin at the Olympics.  I guess maybe it's just nice to see some mainstream fashion photography/advertisement with genuine movement and spontaneity, that actually looks like a celebration of the human body instead of a confinement of it.

On the HATE side, I am not a fan of this alleged new trend of flat ankle boots.  Ugly to the max.  Unfortunately, it probably will catch on since it does look like an extension of recent 80's fashion comebacks.  I won't be thrilled to see these on the feet of the 100's of Berkeley Music students streaming by me on their way to Urban Outfitters this spring.

Oscar Wilde once said "Fashion is what's ugly now". So true. That is my inspiration to dress as heinous as possiable ala Lady GaGa!
