Labor Behind Closed Doors: "Domestic workers are isolated both physically and legally from labor protections. Household workers are excluded from the National Labor Relations Act, which protects the right to organize, and from various wage, civil rights and occupational safety regulations. They also typically work long hours in isolation, which constrains opportunities to expose harmful conditions or abuse."
