Hospice, or "end of life," care isn't something that I had thought a lot about, however in the last few years it has become quite important to my mom (who volunteers tons of her hours towards the local store Hospice Unique Boutique - the proceeds of which go towards hospice care in the Rogue Valley). Subsequently, of course, it has become more important to me. This article, by Atul Gawande in the New Yorker, is quite informative, well written, and moving. He's going to be in Fresh Air today speaking with Terri Gross.
